How do I back up my ledger?
Open the Backup & Recovery Center (from the Accounts screen or Settings) and tap Back Up Now to Files. Quillbook writes a complete, checksummed backup package (a single .quillbook file covering your accounts) to a location you choose in the Files app — on your device, or in a cloud-connected folder such as iCloud Drive if you pick one. The Backup & Recovery Center also shows the date and status of your last save and your last backup, so you can see at a glance whether you have a current copy.
How do I restore from a backup?
In the Backup & Recovery Center, tap Restore from Backup and choose a .quillbook backup file from Files. Quillbook shows you a preview of what the backup contains before anything changes, and asks you to confirm — restoring replaces your current data with the backup, so review the preview first. The Restore from Backup button is always available in the Backup & Recovery Center, whether or not you currently have any data.
What happens to my data if I delete the app?
Deleting Quillbook removes its local data from your device, including all accounts and entries. Quillbook has no account and no server, so there is no copy of your records anywhere except your device and any backups you have exported. Before deleting the app, or before switching devices, we recommend using Back Up to Files in the Backup & Recovery Center so you have a copy you can restore from later.
Where is the "Restore Purchase" button?
Open Settings > Quillbook Pro and tap Restore Purchase. This restores your Quillbook Pro purchase (unlocking multiple accounts) using the Apple Account you bought it with — it does not restore your ledger data. If you're looking to restore your accounts and entries from a backup file instead, see "How do I restore from a backup?" above.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free includes one account with every feature: unlimited entries, both balances (register and cleared), one-tap clearing, search and filter, large-type display, CSV export, and the full Backup & Recovery Center.
Quillbook Pro (one-time purchase, USD 4.99) unlocks multiple accounts at the same time — useful if you keep separate registers for, say, a personal and a household account. It is not a subscription; you pay once.
How do I export my records as a CSV?
From an account's menu, choose Export CSV. This is available in both Free and Pro, at no charge, for any account. The file uses standard CSV formatting (UTF-8, ISO dates) so it opens cleanly in spreadsheet apps.
I bought Quillbook Pro but a second account still isn't unlocked. What do I do?
First confirm your device is signed in with the Apple Account you purchased with, then tap Restore Purchase under Settings > Quillbook Pro. If your purchase still isn't recognized, contact us below.
Can I get a refund?
All billing and refunds are handled by Apple; we cannot issue refunds directly. Request one at Apple's reportaproblem.apple.com.
